UN Volunteers - an organization directly subordinated to the UN engaged in support of sustainable global development in the world by advancing the ideas of volunteerism and mobilizing volunteers to address specific practical problems on our planet. In April 2003 4000 UN Volunteers were, working with refugees, HIV-infected children, the disabled, and in the field of child and adult education, health, urban development, electoral law and protect voters' rights, gender equality and women's rights, etc. etc. etc. virtually all UN Member States.
International volunteer organization founded in 1920, has 33 offices worldwide. Its objective is to promote the ideas of peace, international understanding and solidarity, social justice and environmental protection. Federation ICYE began operations in 1949 ICYE more than 30 offices in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. ICYE mission to promote youth volunteer activities for international understanding and peace. Alliance of European volunteer organizations, founded in 1982, is the focal point of European national volunteer organizations, specializing in the coordination of short-and long-term volunteer work camps, promoting the idea of international cooperation, peace and understanding.
